I have a gen 1 2002, and just bought a 2023 to upgrade. So I'm looking for a cap for the 23 crew cab with a 5' bed. Is there any chance the Gen 2 cap will work? I know it's a stretch, but I found one that needs some TLC for cheap, I'm willing to put in the work, but if its so far off that it's not close, no sense in making the 180 mile round trip.

    Thanks ahead of time.

@spp is right, the answer is no unfortunately. 2nd gen I believe is slightly smaller or the dimensions of the bed are a little different to make it not fit properly. If you are super committed to DIY and TLC then there is a thread I put below about a 2nd gen shell being modified to fit a 3rd gen. But at that point I would just want until a 3rd gen pops up. Happy hunting and congrats on the new 2023 taco.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback. Looks like a hard no for me, as I'm not going to nickel dime and redneck my new ride, no matter if I'm a FL Redneck or not.
