    Hi guys,

I have a 2022 OR, I know not many here have the Anthracite FJ Wheels (PT904-35071) but hoping someone can help me out. I have a set coming tomorrow and the dealer I got them from said I needed different lugs than the regular Toyota mag lugs. I couldn't find anything concrete so I let them add it to my order. The lug kit I got is PTR27-35090 which is a "TRD wheel install kit".

Anyway, I found the install guide for these wheels (https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/res... cruiser trd alloy wheel pt904-35070 issh.pdf) and it mentions needing "6 per wheel Chrome Flat-Seat Lug Nuts". I did find that the TRD Beadlock wheels call for the Lugs they said I needed in their install guide located here: https://toyotaparts.sparkstoyota.com/install/PTR18-35090-BRinst.pdf

Can anyone help shed some light on what lugs the FJ Trail Team/SE TRD wheels actually call for? Is it the lugs I currently have on my stock OR wheels? Or these spline drive lugs in the kit I have coming?

    I appreciate any help.

If your current wheels are aluminum and have mag seat lugs you’re good to go.

Thanks, that was what it seemed like from looking at pics but I haven't been able to confirm. I called a few other Toyota parts departments and couldn't get a straight answer. Looks like they had me order lugs that are for the beadlocks not the trail teams it seems. I have the stock off-road wheels so I currently have the flat washer mag lugs.

The 16" simulated beadlock wheels have a conical seat and require conical lug nuts.

The 16" FJ SE Trail Team wheel (six spoke design with part # PT904-35071) has a flat seat like most of the stock Tacoma wheels, and these wheels require the standard OEM mag-shank with washer lug nuts.

Aside from the difference in the lug seat (which is the critical difference), the conical lug nuts from the 16" beadlock style wheels are also much smaller diameter and would pass right through the lug hole on the PT904-35071 wheels.

Thanks for the help guys, to confirm the lug nut kit is not for the FJ TRD wheels. Actually the FJ wheels came with flat seat lugs that just have a longer head than the stock Tacoma OR lugs. Only problem is the wheels didn't come with the center caps like they were supposed to so now I am waiting on those before I mount them. Also, the dealer I got them from gave me a return label for the lug kit so all should be good once I get the center caps. This has been quite the process and time suck to get these wheels but hopefully it will have been worth it once they are on.
