I'm looking for recommendations for a rear bumper for my 2023 TRD Off road that is capable with the parking sensors and the BSM sensors. Ive looked at RCI and BA4x4 and they don't work with BSM.

Pretty sure they all work with the parking sensors, they’ve just holes.

I think there’s only a few brands that say they support BSM feature and iirc they seemed like off brand stuff.

I’m looking to get a high clearance rear bumper (brute force, at the helm, c4, cbi) and as much as I like the BSM I know none of those work with it. I was going to see if I could rig it behind the tail lights.

only 3 work with BSM that I’m aware of.

Apogee off-road: good reviews, very expensive
4wp: cheaper, mixed reviews on bsm functionality
Buckstop: random guy on TW said his friend got one, ugly

You're right. I had the years mixed up.

    I wonder what's different between 2022 and 2023 BSM?

The main reason most high clearance rear bumpers don’t support the BSM sensors is because they are quite large, need to be angled very specifically, and worst of all only work behind plastic. I considered trying to incorporate them into the HC bumpers during the initial design phase but it would’ve made the corners too bulky and look weird.

If I can assist you in ordering an ATH high clearance rear bumper shoot me a message!

More reason to NOT get more sensors on your off road truck. I know 99% of folks won't see this post. But get the truck with the LEAST sensors possible if you plan to modify.

Most aftermarket bumpers won't work with BSM. They aren't willing to take on the liability for something so sensitive.

The BSM is a large sensor behind the plastic of the bumpers, and it only works if there is no metal in front of them. That means a steel bumper has to have a hole for sensor to see out of, and it has to be at the perfect angle to not be in the field of view of a properly aimed/calibrated sensor.

It's not easily done and claiming a bumper works with it adds liability that is seldom worth it.
