2.7L Access Cab thread

I have a '17 Utility MT 4x4. Wouldn't trade it for anything else!
Has been perfectly reliable (still orig battery even). I added some armor, changed out tires, and put on a Softopper. Fits my purpose perfectly (no kids, not racing it, but do camp & off-road with wife & dog).
I'm particular about which obstacle to attempt when off-road, but so far have had plenty enough power to get me "there & back".
Can't tell you the actual mpg I'm getting as I have not done the math for the new tire size (255/85R16).
Love it! again... I am not racing it, if I did I sure wouldn't come in first but have nay doubt I'd cross the finish line.

 

No regrets, I knew going in that the 2007 2.7L MT would be a certain power level. A times on highway grades I will stay in or downshift to 4th gear. I like that for a 4 cylinder 4WD truck it's geared kind of tall in 5th gear. The plus side is fuel economy. Colder times of the year, like now I average 19+ mpg. If it's below freezing I do warm it up for a few minutes before leaving for work. In the summer I get 22+ mpg.

 

Nothing to regret at all. I was used to the 22R engine with 5 speed in my first new vehicle, a 1984 Long Bed Deluxe (2wd, cassette AM/FM, bench seat, dark blue pearl). Running between western Montana and Sitka, Alaska during the winter was not a problem, running chains on the rear up to cruising at 25 mph, then taking them off to cruise at a quieter 25 or more. If you want to reduce exhaust back pressure for a bit wider rpm band in gear, check out the exhaust systems designed and built by LC Engineering of Lake Havasu City, AZ. We'll hope London Bridge won't be falling down into the Colorado River...

 

I was being tailgated by an M5 outside of Rio Vista so I decided to speed up and get out of his way. I was doing 3 digits when I looked down. I don’t get the “slow” comments.

 

I regret selling mine. I had a 2009 5 spd and loved it. As long as you know its not going to do what a full sized pickup will do you in terms of towing and power then you shouldn't have any regrets. I used mine to tow a 14ft trailer with two fourwheelrs to go racing and i was quite impressed with what it could do with some down shifting. Pull the trigger!

 

I have a second gen with 265/70r17 which I believe are pretty much the same size and I had very minimal rubbing. I have 17x9 wheels with -12 offset. I got some mudflaps that sit outside the wheel well and I had no rubbing.

 

Looks good. I just upgraded my tires to 265 Falkens. I tore out the back seats and made a flat platform for transportation & the my dog.

Got my 2011 hooked up with some Mickey Thompson Baja Boss ATs a few weeks ago. Currently sitting at 212k miles and running like day one!

These tires have been great so far! I was apprehensive about the aggressive tread pattern since I owned BFG KO’s years ago and they SUCKED on wet roads. The Mickeys perform much better. If we actually get snow in my area this year I’ll test them out in those conditions as well.

 

New here. Been creeping for awhile, figured I’d post my truck. Best vehicle I’ve ever owned. So far I removed air dam and steps, added Lasfit LED bulbs to the projectors, and added the roll-up bed cover.

Would love to add better suspension for quick fire road driving and maybe some lighter wheels. A roof rack would be nice eventually as well. I’m happy with it either way!
