Nice weather has the roads clear, dry and salt free so it was nice to be able to drive around a bit this time of year.

Do you have the jelly fish launcher switch by your left knee? If so, you can get these from Yota Expedition for $50, they just plug right in (our trucks are already wired for them) This is the way, if you want it to be pretty much like factory. Then you can set it to turn on with your dome light, or switch it on from the cab:
    https://yotaxpedition.com/products/tacoma-bed-lights

If you need the switch, it gets more expensive as it's like $100. I got mine on Amazon:

I don't have that switch, wish I did. I never understood why the AC didn't get the same 3rd brake light, we have a longer bed (generally) lol. I swear I checked behind my taillight and didn't have the plug for them either and I for sure don't have cutouts in the bed.
I might look into this down the road. Thanks!

Yeah, mine didn't come with the switch either, but came with the relay and all the wiring and the cut outs. That's weird that your's didn't come with the cutouts!

Do you have 4x4? It was near impossible to find a v6 4x4 AC when I was looking.

Yes, it's 4WD. Took a bit of looking to find a low mileage one and it's in my favorite color. It replaces my Silver 2010, AC, TRD that developed a terminal case of frame rot and wouldn't pass State inspection this year. Toyota quit warrantying/replacing frames two years ago...

Also took me awhile to find mine. Mine is 2020 SR AC 4x4 V6 and it had 27k miles on it when I bought it. Had to go a state away to pick it up. Worth it.

I couldn't find ANY used ones anywhere in the North East (V6, AC, 4x4 of any trim level). Then when I saw what the used market was like period, that's when I decided to just buy new... And I still had a really hard time finding one new.

I almost bought new and it was going to be a Lunar Rock TRD OR AC but I figured I did not need to spend the extra money simply for the color lol. I love this truck and it can do everything I ask plus some.

Damn. I gave up on looking for a 4x4 v6 used because of the prices compared to new. I wish I would've expanded my search a couple hundred of miles.
The price I paid for my truck was the max I felt comfortable spending on a truck, and it was like trucks used with miles on them were selling for the same price so I just went new. paid 33 on a new 4 cyl 4x4.

I went through the same process until I found this one in SC (I'm in VA) and had it shipped. The V6 was a must for me. I think mine was a lease to an "older" person. Low miles and clean as a new one.

I was in the same boat. I paid $41k for my TRD OR, but two year old ones were selling for $37-$38k in my area. With the much higher interest rates on used cars, I would have been looking at spending more over 5 years for a used one (over the life of the loan).

Mine has gone through a couple of iterations...

Version #1 with soft vinyl Gator tonneau cover:

    IMG_20220423_192241_872.jpg

Version #2 with a Leer 100XR camper shell:

Version #3 with RCI rock sliders:

    20240203_162846.jpg

I ordered a Diamondback Switchback hard tri-folding tonneau cover, so that will be added when it arrives and I should be done changing shit for a while.

... maybe just a steel front bumper for a winch.

*Unseen in all images is the RCI Front/Transmission/Differential Skid Plates and the black TRD "performance exhaust" system. Also added a full platform for my dog in the back "seating area".

^I love my Diamondback. Nice, secure storage. Easy to remove when needed. I put the Front Runner racks on, as I occasionally put my roof top tent on it. (I keep the tent towards the back so I can still open the front cover.)

Last year, I put on 16" Pro wheels with Mickey Thompson Boss ATs.

Last fall, when I rotated the tires, when jacked up, she looked like she had a 2" lift! (Eventually she will.)

You still got the Leer? I’ve been wanting one for my AC.
