2018 and 2023 racks interchangeable?

I am looking at getting a set of crossbars for on top the cab, but i like the idea of easy removability. I have a 2023 SR5.

The keen-eyed viewer may notices a more than 2x price difference. Hence my question. Is there actually something structurally different that would stop me from using the 2016-2018 set on my 2023 truck? Or is this just an arbitrary difference created for the sake of a markup in price?

 

I think you have your years confused. 2nd gen is

2005-2015 and 3rd gen is 2016-2023.

BTW, your links appear to go to 2016-2023 and the price is the same.

Also note that retail web sites often forget to update their compatibility info. You can generally just assume all 3rd gens are the same.

 

Cab on the 4 door tacoma is the same from 2nd gen to 3rd gen, so there is no changes.

That price difference your seeing is because your comparing 2 different brands of racks.
