Range night for my bullseye league. 6 inch is a Model 10 no dash, 4 inch is a Model of 1950 38/44. I have the original grips for both but after trying too many grips I’ve found of all things the Hogue Monogrips fit my hands best. Shot with new made Winchester SuperX 158gr LSWC target ammo.

I made it to February.

Smith & Wesson Model 28-2 Highway Patrolman 6 inch. Smooth DA pull, crisp SA, BC gap appeared good and only a little fore-aft movement in the cylinder. I paid $600, which feels low for an N Frame 357.

Cleaned uo the 28, and the 6 inch 10 and 38/44 tonight, so I got everyone out for a group photo.

I think it’s safe to say I have a type. Pardon the 1911; it’s is a CMP range grade, 1942 colt frame and Remington Rand slide; plus it pairs nicely with the S&W 1917.

    model 28-2 6 inch
    Model of 1950 38/44 HD 4 inch
    Model 10 6 inch
    Model 10-5 2 inch
Model 17-9 6 inch with target grips and dot
    Model 36
    1917 45acp

I have original grips for all but the 28, just have been experimenting with different grips.

Heavy is good. Heavy is reliable. If it doesn't work... you can always hit him with it.

I decided to step further back in time and pick up a couple of single action revolvers, I never had one before. Bought the Uberti 1873 Cattleman (Colt SAA clone) a few months ago, and a couple of weeks later picked up a Taylor's (Uberti) Outlaw 1875 Remington clone. Both are chambered in .45 Colt. I refinished the grips on the Cattleman and replaced the hammer with a true 4-click version to get rid of the new style safety Uberti has put on them. I'm going to refinish the Remington grips, too, make them look older and more like what you'd have seen way back when.

The indoor bullseye league I shoot in kicked off again last night, and I started off the season with a new personal best of 269/300. :quickdraw:

Did you know that the traditional 11th anniversary present is steel? IMG_5562.jpg

glad my wife still love me after a decade plus! New Smith & Wesson Model 25 in 45 colt, first 50 rounds. Shots out of the box are up and to the left, I’ll get a dot on it to see how it really does using an Allchin mount sometime in the new year.

S&W 686. Bought in... 2017, I think, used from a gun shop in FL. I was looking at Glocks (still love them), and saw this one used for $650. Absolutely a range queen, but damn if it isn't fun. Especially when I get the occasional box of .357 to change things up with .38 SPL.

    My two latest wheel guns.

S&W 627 , 38/357 mag with a 4" barrel, I'd been on the hunt for a 4" for a long time and one crossed my path last year.
I use it in ICORE competition.

    S&W 610,10mm with a 6-1/2" barrel. It's a heavy beast but the weight helps with 10mm ammo.
It's really soft shooting with .40 S&W loads.
