We have a few old timers that had country dogs and weren't fixed; over the years, cars got most of em.
I used to walk with a telescoping police baton, in case of aggressive dogs.
Now I rarely see any dogs loose..

Oddly enough, we have some newish people from IDK where that have been letting their goats run loose!
Like 6 of em - they cross and stand in the road on a blind curve - I saw animal control out the other week lookin for em.
If I hit one, I know what I'm having for dinner!!

[Most] cat people are different though - if you imply that they should contain their animal [to their home/property] they are just like WTF, I can't do that and act like you are the crazy one for not wanting to deal with the cat piss and such...
Hence the trap - I am not trying to reason with that. If it has a collar, you can go get it from animal control; otherwise

 

Yeah, fuck em. I had a cat get into my shed and didn’t know it was in there so it got locked in there. I opened the door and it ran past me like a scalded cat.
Then I went on vacation and I kept getting motion alerts and saw the somebitch climbing on the roof trying to get in gable vents. It didn’t give up for 4 days. When I came home, I opened the shed door and almost puked. It had kittens in there and they were trapped and starved to death. Feral cats are overrunning the neighborhood. They shit in our landscaping and piss on everything. They can eat shit and die as far as I’m concerned.

 

My son wanted a cat. Got him one. With in a month he decided to play in traffic. Enough said. Cats are dumb and my son is scarred for life,

 

If cats were big enough, they would kill and eat us.

For now I got coyotes that are roamin the ag land around where I live, so they have 'taken care of' the feral cat problem for me!
