Do you know if RC says you need 18's to clear the spindles?

 

i don’t know that’s why i need the tires and rims before i can put the lift on. i also have a set of trd 5 spoke rims i have no idea what brand but there dope

 

I couldn't find it on the RC website. In general most 6" kits say go 18" wheels in order to clear the tie rods/knuckles. A few guys (myself included) fit 17's with no spacers just need the right specs. I have a 17x9 3.5Backspace/-38mm offset & it just barely clears.

or is it only when you put on an additional 170lbs of tires?

 

It’s says right on their website the minimum wheel size, width and offset required to run their kit.

 

Folks regear day one given the truck is 3.73 which is garbage ratio

sedans have 4.10
so does Jeep Rubicon, 3rd gen TRD OR 4runner, and anything else that had some semblance of rational thought go into making it.

Yes I am sure that my Tacoma that is on 35’s and isn’t regeared doesn’t feel underpowered. YMMV
