    The rod is connected to the load, sensing proportioning valve.
    As you put more weight on the back of the truck. It opens the valve, so the rear brakes do more braking.

    Toyota's early version of anti lock brakes. I removed mine, they are unnecessary in my opinion, and actually prevent front and rear brakes from being seperate systems, so if your brakes fail you are hosed. Easy to remove, lots of articles about it.

    Good info, thanks.. I thought the 2002’s had ADS? Maybe not true ABS?

    No ABS light on my dash. So no ABS. I understand what the engineers must of been thinking, as long as the components are working correctly. But no ABS/anti skid as we know it now.
