I fully understand. You'very already got a full plate. I just post these in case anyone wants to try one of these Grand Tours or is looking for new excuses to ride.

What is your Masters in? You may have mentioned but if so I missed it.

I think that Johnny's was a bonus location in a rally I did several years ago.

Masters of Science in Management and Leadership. Kind of half MBA half people leadership stuff. Doing it online at WGU and it's been good so far. Was basically told at work I need a masters if I ever want a promotion again, sooooo, this was my fastest route.

She's gonna love that bike! Is it a brand new one?

I just finished up some work on my xt225. It's been a week since I have ridden it. I missed it so much. New clutch grips SOOOOO much better. Can actually clutch up wheelies now.

Finished up replacing the clutch, swing arm pivot, lower shock pivot and clean n grease the other 3 linkage pivots and upper shock. With the replacement and proper tightening of things so inner collars couldn't move on bolts, I went from over a half in of vertical slop in the rear suspension to under 1/4in. And 1/4-3/8 of side so side swing arm slop to maybe 1/16. It feels much more planted now.

    20240210_113745.jpg

And while I was there I did the cam main bushing to bearing mod for peace of mind. Definite wear on the aluminum bushing that was in there (bike has 11k miles on it), probably about a 1/3 of a millimeter elongated! So for 15$ for a timken metal shielded ball bearing of the right size. It was well worth it (bearings actually came in a two pack so 7.50). Pulled off one metal shield cleaned all the grease out and put the open side inward so it's bathed in oil.

Back together and purrs like a kitten. Will give it 50-100 miles of riding for the oil filter to catch any crud from the work I did / new clutch break in and change oil n filter.

Very cool. Sounds like a wise move, career wise.

I showed the race track option for Team Strange to a coworker. He does Internet streaming for some area dirt tracks. He told me there are almost 80 tracks near me. I know of maybe 20

No snow today and it got above freezing. So it was a good day for a ride.

Chinese honda clone motor usually made by Zongshen. Well known to be reliable and long lasting.

The rest of the bike can be good just gotta give it a good once over to make sure things are proper

Thanks for the input! I did some research since they and everyone seems to like them and the things people say is new bars, reject the carb, chain, and stiffer spring.

Was offered this on trade it. It has 35 hours and looks to be a fun dirt only toy

One thing I like about the Kayo's is they are actually sold at dealerships so you can get parts.

It's all about expectations with these Chinese dirt bikes. Is it a Japanese dirt bike as far as features and build quality? No. But they aren't really that bad either. I think you can have a lot of fun on them. For a guy like me in his 60's that's not a super skilled motocrosser and just wants to trail ride they're just fine. And it's really fun saving heaps of money over the Japanese bikes and inflated dealer mark ups. More and more people are trying them out and liking them, great for families etc. I'm looking at Chinese dirt bikes and this is one company that's on my short list, something in the 250cc to 300cc range, probably a 250.

ya i get that for sure on prices! id love a ktm but the cost sucks on them... it seems the quality (minus the rear shock) on these are really good and people really do like them. they are a bit smaller on cc and length then most dirtbikes but for me who is not a skilled trails bike rider i think it would be fine for the little trails i would do when going camping. plus trading off an atv i dont use for a dirtbike i will use sounds like a deal to me lol

Picked up this little project for $300 last year

It had been sitting outside for a couple of years with a fried wiring harness, but had a clean title and the seller even threw in a brand new hitch carrier just to haul it away

Threw a tank on it, cleaned up the carb, boiled the rusty chain in vinegar, added some LED's, rewired everything and sprayed some rattle can tan

Total investment about ~$500 bucks for a fun little barhopper

going down the kayo rabit hole they seem to be great little bikes. the 230 seems like a pretty good bike but kinda wondering if i got it from this guy should i trade it for the kayo kt 250 2 stroke that 2 dealers have marked down since they still have a 21 model
