I’m planning on the far future to replace my rear diff LSD (mechanical) for a ARB locker.

But I’m also planning at an earlier stage to move the vent/breather to a higher location. Typically called as a diff breather mod.

Would doing this affect the rear diff to maintain air pressure when engaging the locker?

I’m just trying not to do 2 steps forward 6 steps backwards sort of thing.

any advise or input would be appreciated.

    no issues.
had an arb locker with relocated breather and i never had pressure issues.

in fact, this is the first time i think of such thing being possible.

The arb locker has a seal. If air gets out past the arb seal, you DONT want it staying in your diff, it would put pressure on your seals

you’d know it tho, your compressor would be cycling on and off

You should be good. I've done what you're describing - arb with diff breather moved up near the filler cap - and the locker works as it should. I do have a leak in my arb manifold for the lockers but that's a different problem haha.

If this was the case relocate would not be common and ARB would not sell a breather.
Thats how people deal with water level.

ARB air locker is activated by air.
The breather is to vent the diff so you don’t get cold water contraction sucking through the seals.
    These are two different things.
