    I respectfully dis-agree. :thumbsup: In my mind, Toyota puts something in place, declares it "done" then slaps the "Old School" label on it and calls it a day for a least the next two generations. (tongue-in-cheek). Who knows what in the wiring design hates LED's in a Toyota. If it works out the door as they designed it, and it later blows up with a mod, I doubt they really care... "It was fine when it left here... proceed at your own risk." Who can blame them really? "If it works: don't break it."

    Except Toyota themselves are using the same wiring on the new tech. The newer trucks that use the full LED headlights have the same ECU as the ones with the halogen headlights. Toyota just had to create a more complex headlight (switchback controls, built in resistors) to accommodate the wiring. Had they just updated the wiring in 2016 (LED lights weren’t exactly new by this point), or even actually stuck with old-school (by using actual turn signal relays) as opposed to the hybrid ECU controlled mess they opted for, simple things like this wouldn’t be a big issue.
