I highly recommend leaving a 1 star review if you're dealing with dealer markups.

It may not be a typical situation, but I left my review after talking to a manager in person about incoming Off roads. He was adamant that the markup would not be taken off. I told him I'm not paying a mark up and we said our goodbyes. I get home and write the review. Within minutes of the review I was contacted by the online sales team apologizing on the managers behalf, the owner responded to my review apologizing, and they actually went and removed markups from every Tacoma they had listed on SmartPath.

After that I switched it to a 2 star review and thanked them for removing the mark up. I'll just go to another dealer, closer builds to what I want anyway.

You should have kept the original review and submitted a second 1 star review explaining that the dealership had absolutely no concern about markups until you left a public review...

Scrubbed some tires, and knocked a dent out.
Definitely a good track to take. But its hard for most of us to argue with what the dealership will charge if some one else will buy it.

My review pretty much says that in the end, removing all the mark ups does slightly improve them in my opinion. Hopefully I saved someone some money. I'm going to shop elsewhere.

Thankfully I have the option of just going to another dealer. Plenty in my area. I think most here would argue against dealer markups.

I hate dealers so much. I wish for direct sales from the manufacturers.

Bad dealers really take the joy out of shopping and buying a new car or truck.

Considering that Toyota and their distributors are already gouging you with a bloated MSRP, feature de-contenting, and absolutely ridiculous port add-ons…..if a dealer won’t sell a truck w/o a markup, immediately walk away, and give them a 1-star

However… and more relevant to other buyers out there, if you decide to pay a dealer markup, then give yourself 1-star, and next time consider buying a bicycle instead
