This is exactly what it sounds like.

We use a patch feature in the YWT tune that limits torque based on ECT, but it's not infallible. You can still get it to misfire when not warmed up properly.

Magnuson TVS1900 Supercharger with 87mm pulley, Catted OVTune dumptubes, Doug Thorley 2.5in y-pipe, custom mufflers, 76mm Tundra throttle body, 5.29 Yukon gears, JamesT custom fuel rails, Yotawerx 87mm tune, Eibach Pro Truck Stage 2 suspension. And some other stuff.
Adding a supercharger and 5.29 gears will absolutely transform your truck.

^^This exactly. I always wait for the first hash mark before getting into the boost, and wait for full operating temp before I really hit it, otherwise it is very boggy. Once you hit the middle of the thermostat, fire away, take it easy before then.

Did you ever get this figured out ? I recently had this exact thing start happening too. Same codes. Trans shop didn't see any issues with the transmission and the fluid is new . I am not sure where else to start looking...

I did a drain and fill and added the recommended amount of Lubegard, which decreased the slip feel but still once in a while around that 79-81 mph mark with cruise on it would flip those same CEL codes (I’d say less often than before though, it would have to be on a more significant grade to trigger it).

I haven’t had it ever happen again since I tuned it with OTT’s maggy tune about 40k miles ago, regardless of the grade of the hill/mountain or if cruise is set to any speed. If your fluid is new and it’s happening to you as well it makes me think it’s something funky with with Magnuson’s tune, but that is just conjecture. Did it happen for you on cruise too and at certain speeds? Let me know if you figure it out more than I did!

Both times I've had it happen was with cruise on going 75mph give or take. Took it to my local AAMCO who took it for a drive and they said solenoid and TC were both operating normally (non highway). The guy mentioned in their database was a note with a similar problem ended up being related to MAF sensor if I remember right ... I might check into that or take it to an auto electrical specialist I know.

It would make sense that it could be tune related since everything else seems normal. If all else fails I may end up getting an OTT tune anyways. I'm sure it's better.

Ok folks I've gone down this rabbit hole for the whole 156 pages. My taco is built out.2019 DBLB 3.5 AT. 285s, 4:88 gears, OTT tune, skids, sliders, Super Pacific camper, inbed storage etc. Yeah Little One is heavy. and square. my issue is living in mountain west(southern Idaho to be specific) there are often long freeway drives to get to trails, fishing and camping. If im trying to stay up with traffic posted 80mph I spend a lot of time @ 4000RPM. Will a SC help broaden out the power band so I'm not a such a high RPM or would I be better off regearing to 5:29s. and WIll my gas mileage get worse? currently averaging 9-11 @ freeway speeds.
    Picture just for fun

The Maggy will definitely broaden the powerband and give you a much-needed boost in torque throughout the RPM range of the motor.

    OTTvsOTTMaggy.png

    Red: OTT N/A Tune
    Blue: OTT Maggy (90mm) Tune

The additional torque is pretty substantial for this engine. No other bolt-on modification or combination of parts will provide the torque gains across the entire RPM range for the money.

The mileage is often unaffected in "normal" driving (for a stockish truck) but will be noticed if loaded and under boost for sustained periods. A heavy truck/poor aero due to bumpers, racks, etc. often aren't as affected as the N/A trucks given the additional torque available to get to and maintain a given speed.

Given the economy you're currently getting, it suggests to me you're operating in Open Loop. I'd wager that the Maggy wouldn't actually hurt and may slightly improve your economy under normal freeway driving.

Being an OTT customer already gives you a pretty sizeable discount on the S/C tune. If you decide to go down this path or want to discuss it further, send us an email, and we'll be happy to get you sorted out.

I have a pretty similar truck - 285s, OVRLND Camper which is a lot boxier than your Super Pacific and live in Colorado. I went with 5.29s and I have the Magnuson SC with the OTT tune. I couldn't imagine driving it around without the SC and the OTT tune - night and day difference to the truck and it makes me want to go on long road trips - the truck has all the power it needs, can easily accelerate around people on the hwy when I need to. I average 14-15 mpg on the fwy with my setup too.

My truck is stock tires, gears and weight, with AT but where i can relate is towing, i tow an enclosed car trailer, and stock the truck was pathetic, the only way to maintain even 65 MPH, was in 4th (might have been 3rd, been a while) at about 5k rpm, any other option at over 60 mph resulted in constant shifting while trying to maintain a speed. I was sure it would destroy the transmission, so went as low a gear an necessary to keep from shifting.

With the SC, 5th holds decent, occasional shifting for hills, but very impressive.

I cannot compare the fuel economy towing, but without towing my fuel economy went up after SC. This could be because of other things i installed at the same time, worth mentioning I have Yotawerx tune. Not an exact comparison, but my experience sure indicates that improved economy is possible..

I hated the truck pre SC, and now the truck is a pleasure, runs and works like a truck, and passing cars is fun too. Without the SC, I would have sold the truck.

I would strongly advise against lugging the motor at such a low RPM under high load like that.

yea but im not talking full boost lugging. like on my turbod tacoma i can cruise highway in last gear at like 1800rpm with armor and 35s with 3.91 gears. hit a hill and itl get into 3-4psi boost barely on the gas and auto trans doesnt even downshift. just drives up effortlessly.

Very difficult to actually measure the performance of the system like that.

I can only see that being possible on a load bearing dyno while operating in steady state with throttle angles locked/fixed at the same angles for N/A and boosted setups.

    Not easily or cheaply performed.

i was assuming gains shown at full throttle would also translate to part throttle
