Here’s the deal. Replaced passenger side upper ball joint to pass inspection and when I fired it up to test drive, brake warning light came on.

After some research, I checked the brake fluid level and it was at the high mark. No leaks in the brake system. Parking brake engages but doesn’t stop the truck. Drums were replaced last spring.

Where do I go from here?

Concur you probably stressed the ABS Sensor cable to that wheel you did the ball joint on.

Just picked up the recommended Bluetooth scanner and ran the complete scan and no error codes came up. What could I be missing?

Did you look under the truck at the wiring to the ABS Sensor?

he said the Brake warning light was on.. separate from ABS. hence no codes.
also states that parking brake engages but does not stop the truck
possible the parking brake not releasing fully and triggers the light.
id check for drag on back brakes next and go from there
just responding and guessing given info provided in first post.

Most common issues for the Brake Light are low fluid level and Parking Brake Switch.

I misunderstood that the ABS Light was also on...

Update - through closer inspection of the rear hubs, discovered the pass side parking brake cable was broken where it passes into hub. Replaced the cable and both abs harnesses and still have dash brake light illuminated. The parking brake switch is a pain to get at but going to get after it tomorrow and see if that is the culprit.

Try pulling off sensor connector on master cylinder and see if light turns off. Mine was coming on and ended up being the switch on the master.

Just fixed the issue. Turns out the parking brake switch had a small bit of corrosion. Cleaned it off and the lights went off. Not sure why the abs light went off too, maybe because of the new harnesses. Anyway, good to go!
