Is there a way to replace the light bulbs around the outside of the truck and not get the hyperflash?

I replaced my back up lights with LED's with no issue.

if you do not have DLRs, Diode Dynamics has a module that works and can add lane change stalk tap
if you have DRLs adding load resistors to the harness is the only reliable method (depending on your skills)
    personally not worth the hassle

I'd check out what Diode Dynamics has. IDK what requires their relay, if anything, to work. Which adds cost.

I just have their front side markers in terms of changing to LED bulbs
rear tails are LED DEPO smoked aftermarket housings
    upgraded Philips reverse bulbs (IR)
Only thing that really leaves left I haven't made LED is front turn signals, give or take. But, if that requires the DD relay, then is it really worth the high cost...

oddly enough, my front side markers changed to LED
one appears to have shaken loose. So it stopped working.
But bulb was good. They're supposed to last basically forever. Put it back in, it worked. But for whatever reason (maybe the truck isn't programmed to detect it), no warning came on, or hyperflash.
Not a big deal to walk around light function test every service though.

in terms of cost, who knows, maybe it is justified
LED is brighter, looks better, flash is faster
I'm gonna look back at what Diode Dynamics has for the front turn, if anything
maybe rear turn, if I find that's incandescent or not in LED tails (I think only the rear red running light and brake light is LED in them but not 100% sure)

I tried them in our 2015 Tacoma replacing the turn signals.
We got the hyperflash and my girlfriend wasn't happy with it so I took them back out.
Thanks for the info and responding.

I have 2 RAM trucks and changed all the lights to LED, everyone of them.
I used the program AlfaOBD to change the settings in the BCM telling the truck that they were LED and have no issues with any of them.
Was really hoping that there was something similar for the Toyota trucks.

looks like this could do it

    https://www.diodedynamics.com/led-flasher-for-2005-2016-toyota-tacoma.html
    https://www.diodedynamics.com/front-turn-signal-leds-for-2005-2015-toyota-tacoma-pair.html

    I just don't know what's better
the regular relay, or more expensive SmartTap

    I'm looking at it now
    regular relay cf18 $20
best DD bulbs, front amber turn, rear amber turn
    $200
    is that worth it...

    Company designee philosophies are different
Your Tacoma is 2 generations old plus 1 more for Toyotas conservative practices with the Tacoma

This is how I solved the problem with hyperflash on my 06 when I installed the turn signal LED bulbs. Just make a slight cut to the resistance bar. Don't cut all the way through just nick it.

The blinker would require a resistor to flash properly. Try RadioShack or circuit city.

The headlights? Stock housing won't beam LED light correctly, it will just scatter into the other drivers eyes...
