my dad had a problem with squirrels getting into his attic and then theyd get so turned around they'd end up dying up there...oh did that stink...

his solution was to purchase a good pellet gun and shoot them all in the yard until they no longer come into the yard...

its his new favorite hobby...he sits on the back porch in his rocking chair and waits till the get on his fence or in his trees and pops them

him and the dog have a great plan set up...the dog sees him raise the gun and goes running up to the top of the yard where the squirrel is...dad shoots it out of the tree and the dog grabs it and kills it and brings it to him and he throws it away

he's been doing this for 2 years and no longer has squirrels chewing thru his fascia to get in

last year we cut down a tree and it had a dead squirrel petrified in it where it had fallen after he shot it...and theres one running around with 1 eye too

I've had some neat experiences with them before. They are protected here in Indiana. Cool little critters really.

Probably not but do you realize how many laws you have broken by transporting that little guy across state lines? :p

Oh, no. I'm sure they'd rather have me release it than just kill it. I'll take my chances. By the way Roland, what town do you live in? JK

The one just east of the Washington Bridge. If you decide to stop in you'll get to drive on the new $600,000,000 "I-Way" bridge project.

OK. I go that way to visit my parents. They live in Somerset, Mass. Thats a good hour from my house. Maybe they'll open the Westbound half one of these days. Traffic get pretty tough there in the afternoon.

Insurance cuts a fat check for a new house "SHAZAM" it's all good... unless you get caught and then you hang with O.J. for a while. :smack:

My parents have the flying squirrels come up to the bird feeders on the porch. A year or 2 ago one of my friends walked right up to one that was hanging on a feeder and freakin petted it!! I couldn't believe it didn't tear her up like a normal squirrel would!

When I caught it in the trap it was very calm. Even the dog walked up and gave it a sniff, no problem. They would probably make a half decent pet, like a hamster.

they are nocturnal by nature, so feeding in the open during daylight possibly means that a strong appetite or home eviction was the reason for being so tolerant of a human..........

Those little jerks woke up my wife last night which meant that she woke me up. Last night after work, I went up to the attic with some foggers and tossed those into the approximate locations where they were making some noise. Then I shot my red ryder around up there just to let them know that I mean business. They ignored those warnings and started screwing around last night around 3:30. I jumped up grabbed my Fenix TK11 (brighter than the sun flashlight) and my red ryder and fired about 20 BBs at them. They didn't bother us for the rest of the night. I'm going to put a few traps in there tonight and relocate those fuckers and then when I've got a few of them, I'll put out some fox urine in the attic. I might even start shooting them in my backyard with my pellet gun.
