Let's just keep it simple 3rd Gen MT OR double cab with 5 ft bed is $39,420 same 4g is $43,295.

Quick maths tells me that's 9% higher. I think. I'm not great at math.

Apparently nobody who’s trying to justify paying a lot more.

And overall new car price transactions didn’t just decline while Tacoma’s price increased 3x the current rate of inflation.

And the hybrids will be an absolute steal.

Said my local Toyota Sales Manager.

Really, how much inflation was there between December, 2023 and January, 2024? 0.3%

Nope. You are comparing a 23 with power seat and power rear slider to 24 with manual seats and a solid glass window.

Or you could say a 24 with all the changes that come in it besides picking power seats and a single window as the difference. And no I'm not

And a 2024 with standard LED headlights versus $485 for the option to get them. Wireless CarPlay, cameras that didn’t come from an 8 bit Nintendo video game too.
But let’s just focus on the bad shall we??

It gets hard to find a base model of any of the Tacomas. Most everybody pays for some sort of manufacturer package add. Running my numbers, buying a 2023 TRD Sport DC LB in June 2023 (April2023 Build) vs a March 2024 TRD Sport DC LB (Dec2023 Build) is about a $3,460 diff in base MSRP. And WITH the Premium package and adding in extra cost of LED lights in 2023 thats another ~$2,800 difference. I have no definitive need for 90% of the 2024 new tech add ons and therefore the cost. So I saved about $6,260, ~19% in a mere 9 months time. I like those numbers.

Isn't that sentiment the general gist of why most people go Taco? Savings. A Taco is also more than a Schwin or Kawasaki, but those options are out for me 8 months a year (well most years) unless I prefer frost bite. Life ain't cheap, just spend wisely grass-hoppa.

I would wait until things cool off, look how the new Tundra sales cooled off, I see dealers offering $6K off MSRP on new Tundra's and resale values of used Tundra's are not all that great. I see large inventories of Tundra's new and used.
Same thing will happen with the Tacoma. 4R sales have cooled off as well and resale values have dropped on used 4R's as well.
