Hello everyone been following this page for awhile decided to creat an account.. Allow me to introduce myself and my rig. I’m full time paper maker and full time dad. I don’t do much off roading unless it’s hunting season. That’s when you can find me on those backroads and beaten paths. My rig is a 2013 Toyota Tacoma 4wd 160k plus miles stock suspension with 16x8 F5 on a 265/70 (everyday driver) I have some added weight to the truck with roof rack, cases, awning, running boards and camper shell that stays on year round. I’m looking to bring my truck up a few inches in the front and rear to get rid of the “sag” it’s gotten over the years and definitely get rid of that sloppy feeling. As well as bump up from 265 to a 285 . I’m hoping to get some real life feed back from personal experience with running both 6112/5100 or 5100. I’ve been reading many platforms on the debate between 6112 and the 5100. Yes I have gotten some of my questions answered but everyone’s rigs is different. Ive decided to go with the Icon rxt full leaf (probably stage 2 setting) considering I’m only fully load a handful times out the year, and 5100 for the rear but can’t decide if the 6112 is what I need for the front or the 5100. I want something smoother riding, from what I read the 6112 and 5100 are both digressive valved. So there’s my dilemma. Would the 6112 be more my speed with the weight of the truck or do I not have the weight to justify jumping from 5100 to 6112. Also putting the circlip setting at the highest on the bilsteins , does that affect the ride quality? Also any advice on spring rates for the 6112 and 5100 would be appreciated. Thanks in advanced for answers and stay blessed!!

had 5100. Did not like them. They are small. Have 6112/5160. They are bigger and better. Rear is RXT (also better than OE) bought cheap used.

RXT is better than my old single AAL. Never tried the Icon more expensive AAL kit.

Deaver is said to be even better than RXT but costs more. Archive came out with leaf packs but wasn’t a thing at the time when I got the RXT.

stock untouched small rear leafpack is not really cut out for a camper shell.

6112 has the option of coming with two springs. A regular one or an HD one for front steel bumper.

If you want smooth go with the 6112/5160. I had them and they are great. Keep the default spring rate that comes with the 6112 it will be fine. Should pair well with RXT stage 2 since you have the shell. You might have a sligthly stiffer ride with circlip on highest setting but it's splitting hairs / very subjective and should still be pretty smooth.

Your setup is similar to mine and I used to have the 6112/5160. Send it!
