We get a ton of yellow chunky pollen out here in Coastal GA. I used to use a California Car Duster on my R32 and other cars. Is that still good to go or is there a better option? Brand-wise any differences? Thanks all!

Having owned show cars since 1988 all I ever used on my cars was a California Duster. Even kept the same one for years. When I dusted my cars it was usually just light dust and pollen and the finish held up just fine. With pollen I did see some smearing on the paints surface but then I was using a spray detailer to clean that up. On daily driven vehicles I would do a quick wipe every day if vehicle is very clean. On dirty surfaces the Duster would be compromised and you would risk scratching the surface. Because I keep my 17 Tacoma spotless the paint is still flawless being wiped down every few days and washed as needed which is seldom. I just rolled 31K.

Well.... That all depends on how picky you are about the quality of the paint job and how shiney you like it. Pollen is VERY abrasive, so pushing it around on the panted surface with anything WILL cause maring/scratching, even though they will be very small.

Yeah I used to be very very picky about my paint/seal/finish. I just put line-x on my fenders because they had clearcoat and little damages. I just didn't know if there was any updates to the basic California to consider.

I use a Swiffer before firing up the car. Start in front, down the sides and finally the wheels. I do tap out the dust, pollen, etc as I go along. The Tacoma gets washed a few times yearly, clay barred, and finally Griots ceramic wax. The car is hand waxed and hand buffed using Griots spray wax between a proper job.

I was always told that those dusters were a no no. Any little bit of abrasive dust a swirls galore
