The amount of channels available to store frequencies in on our radios is getting ridiculous. I'm seeing radios with 1,000 to 999,999 memory / channel spaces.

If you figure that there are:
    MURS - 5 Freqs
    GMRS - 15 Freqs?
Ham Calling - 5 or so Freqs
Ham Repeaters - Maybe 100 really solid repeaters in an area
NOAA Weather Radio - 7 Freqs

What do you do with the other 868 to 999,867 frequencies?

    What are you monitoring?

I know...it's kind of crazy how many channels some of these new radios have. I just acquired some old Moto XTS 1500, & 2500 radios...but they're only single band. So my VHF ones have MURS, a couple of ham simplex freqs, a few marine channels, and NOAA. UHF radios are pretty much GMRS. I might put a few local DMR repeaters on them too.

My VHF/UHF ham radios are lucky to see 100-150 channels...maybe more if I put satellite freqs on them.

Have scanners to monitor anything else.

Here's what I have settled on for the moment.
Note - I'm loading it in a Quad Band Radio that is essentially Mars Modded or unlocked so the range of frequencies it gets are expanded over what you may get unless you are running similar.
As a note - NOT transmitting on the Forbidden Frequencies. Only monitoring. Radio doesn't let me set to be able to transmit on some and not on others so I set power output on those freqs to 0%.

Saving you the trouble of downloading and opening the file...
I've picked non digital Fire, Law Enforcement, EMS, for my county and the immediately adjacent county to our north as well as Bureau of Land Management, State Forestry, Inter-agency Fire, 10-Tanker, NiFOG SAR, several local air ports (small ones), and a handful of military channels because convoys are common around here.
