Mine neither. Pretty sure it’s only on TRD’s/Limiteds.

Hmm, interesting... That is contrary to what Martian said in post #6. Now I'm curious if mine will work when my trial period is up in December.

Actually, I tried again, this time without overthinking the 3 button press and can confirm it still works even after your subscription ends. lol

Great, I didn't spend over $40k for a one year subscription. Money well spent! Now if some electronics geek squad nerd in here could just figure out how to keep it running after I open the door after remote starting.

Throttle controller, air horn, I know, im just getting started
I hope its not a subscription thing. That would be total BS!!
Id like to fix it or replace it with a similar unit.

Anyone know where the oem remote start unit is usually installed? Any advice is welcome.

My fob is still working for remote start on my 2021 sport 4x4. I've owned my truck for almost 3 years

I've had my 2023 sport since October, and couldn't get this to work. Just went out and tried again, and it started on the first try. I just wasn't holding the 3rd press long enough before...

Honestly Toyotas remote start is garbage. Sure it’s nice to be able to start your car and heat it up or cool it down, but why make it shut off when the door unlocks. I get security, but it is one of the dumbest features. I hardly ever use the remote start cause of the shut off feature. But mine still works and I don’t pay for the subscription service

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I saw it on another video. It does work...with the keyless start.

Not on SR/SR5s. Yes on Limiteds + TRDs.

I found this when digging around in the app info. Idk about people who’s remote start works after their subscription/trial ends, but mine definitely doesn’t, it’s a 2023 TRD OR, remote start worked when the connected services trial subscription was active, but stopped working after that even from the key fob. Seems like it’s supposed to stop working according to the note I found in the app help sections.

The connected services being waived and expiring are not the same thing.

If you opt out and do not let them collect data on vehicle usage, then it won't work because they disable the transmitter. That is the same one used for the app remote start and that sends data. It just happens to also be for the FOB remote start.

I let my services expire in November and so the app won't start it, or even pull it up. My FOB still remote starts it. The FOB should work for a specified number of years if you do not have the connected services. I've heard 3 years and 10 years. Either way, it still works without a sub to their services.

@50Buck any idea where to check that setting for opted out or not? I didn’t change anything after the trial expired and it still doesn’t work. I see connected services active on my app, but subscription expired, and still no remote start from the key fob.

As far as I know it's not a setting. You hit the SOS button and talk to a rep. Truck should have had a sticker on the upper console by the mirror that says it can only be removed by the owner.
