On my Tacoma I’ve got a pedal commander. It does help take the lag out of the response going up a hill or taking off. But my question is… is a tune better? If so, what is the best tune for the Tacoma 3rd gen? i’ve looked on the forums and I don’t really see any recommendations other than will the dealership no etc. thanks guys~

YotaWerx has extremely positive feedback for their tunes, and customer support. I have a YotaWerx supercharger tune and it is great with wonderful customer service, but feedback on the NA tunes is also highly positive. Check it out!

YotaWerx Tuning Services and Development sorry, can't figure out a link

You’ll be happy with any tune. Look for the service that will take care of you if the need arises.

It does make a difference in drivability. And for me, along with that drivability comes extreme happiness. Like I can’t wait to get into my 3rd Gem Taco. I’ll look for any excuse to drive it (and when I’m not driving it, I’m always thinking about driving it, LOL!!!!!) I wish I would have done it waaaaaay sooner.

I do quite a bit of canyon driving. Up, down, tight turns, slow down, speed up, etc. Tunes will help the motor achieve a better working rpm range. A little goes a long way when driving these canyon roads. I choose the ECT button, and that allows me not to have to punch the gas pedal to get going. Slight inputs and it’s a nice drive.

HOWEVER!!!! Just to put it into perspective, we’re driving a 213 cubic inch motor. Don’t expect V8 350 cubic inch power. But do expect giggles and surprises for such a small naturally aspirated motor.
