Has anyone driven one yet?

For sure, they should have stuck with this triumph of automotive design.

 

Ill never be able to afford a new Tacoma again, they became expensive luxury trucks

 

Thought I’d love it and don’t. If I bought one today it’d be in bronze oxide.

Drove one yesterday. Comfortable and much better shifting manners. Still has the same lag all turbos do from a stop but once spooled up it has good power.

Was not impressed with the WOT take off from a dead stop. As much as I hate the 3rd gen V6, it at least doesn’t have that turbo lag, however, the tradeoff for the rest of the power might be worth it

 

I drove one yesterday at the dealership, shifting was a lot better especially on the highway. Interior felt a little cramped to me but maybe because the guy from the dealership was pushing me to buy it next to me

Seats felt a lot more comfy and less of sitting on the ground like the 3rd gen has. Anyways dealership math said it would be cheaper for me to trade in my truck and then start a new six year loan at a way higher rate to get a lower monthly payment.... no thanks

 

If I turbo my 2.7 can I just call it a 4th gen and save a bunch of money?

 

I'm at about 600 miles on my TRD OR Premium. I didn't have a 3rd Gen. I'm coming from a 21 F150. Also had a 19 Ranger. This truck is extremely comfortable and the power is very good. I don't notice turbo lag, but since my last two were turbos I guess I may be used to it. I know I bought the Ranger over the Tacoma in '19 because it felt like it couldn't get out of its own way. I jumped on the express way and I had to really floor it to get up to speed. Plus the interior was dated. Anyway, I've taken a few 100 mile runs and pulled an 18' trailer coming back on one of them. Also running 33's and aftermarket wheels. As far as the price goes, my $54k Tacoma costs just a little bit more (adjusted for inflation) than my '19 Ranger on A Plan. If I had the FX4 package back then, it would've been the same price. Everyone who complains about the prices needs to open an inflation calculator and see how much more it really isn't.

It is a lot of money, but that's what mid-sized trucks cost now. I was just pointing out that the price really isn't higher than it was then. Of course, our wages haven't kept up. I wouldn't have one if my wife didn't work and make a good living too (or we still had kids in the house). That is the problem.
