Hi all, I was trying to install my cat shield but I think I ruined the thread by tightening too much when I was trying to loosen (my bad).

    1) Is this a catastrophic part? The bolt can still tighten with the nut but I'm unsure if the thread is also important.
    2) How much would it be to fix and how would it be fixed?
    2) Does this void my warranty on my brand new car?

    Thanks,
    Will

Just as a FYI, I was still able to tighten it because of the nut on the bolt.

The way I know the thread is ruined is because when I loosened the nut, the bolt wiggled instead of remaining firmly placed.

If it's tight then it's tight. Relax brother, your warranty is not voided because you buggered up some threads on a bolt.

I would be shocked if you could ruin the threads on that bolt by over tightening.

The hole is big enough to allow some movement of the bolt when the nut is loose. There's no threads in the frame crossmember, just a hole

    You're fine
