1st post and happy to have this place to ask questions with the amount of experience available.

I'm looking at adding 2 24W Cree flood lights to my new back bumper (when the weather is a bit warmer I'll install bumper and lights. I'm located in Alberta). The reason I'm considering them is they have a harness, relay, switch, etc as a package. The downside is the harness is designed for front lights not rear but they indicate on their website that they can be used for the rear by extending it. And I understand how to do that:D

My question is: has anyone ever done that with these lights? Or are there other options I haven't been able to find? How did it work if you did?

Seems too easy to do it this way rather than wiring the lights from scratch.

Any thoughts or ideas would be welcome.

Cheers and keep yer stick on the ice!

Why wouldn’t you just tie them into your reverse lights?
And if you want them separate, then ya, just extend the harness.

Ya, wanted them separate from reverse lights so extending the harness looks like the easiest option.

You could go best of both worlds and use a 3 way switch- on with reverse/ off/ on.

Thanks PTPinETN, I hadn't thought of that. Worth checking out.

    Cheers

Other options, with no idea of your goals/ budget.
There are a couple different “all in one” switch controllers- SwitchPro, SPOD, Auxbeam. If you are adding additional lights, or whatever, these panels allow for only running one wire into the cab and all the brains/ relays/ other stuff stays under the hood.
Tons of info around the forum.

I’ll look into this further. Maybe my goals need to change a bit:cool:
