For the cali raised transmission skid plate, two carriage bolts pass through the skid at the rear, and fit up through the crossbar near the cat converter, through a large square washer plate you place on top of the cross bar. For the rear carriage bolts, I can get the passenger side in just fine and it had good access to the lock nut for a ratchet. But the drivers side is a nightmare. There is a small tubular bracket that bolts in right beside where the carriage bolt comes up though the cross member, and that is making access to the lock nut almost impossible. Acces is very limited from all angles, but I can get an offset box end wrench on it and get about 1/6th of a turn at a time. The bracket is made of a tube a little bigger than a pencil and wraps around the cat converter. It only touches in two places, just where it bolts to the frame. See attached showing the skid plate lock nut and the offending bracket. Acces is tight, best pic i could do. View is from drivers side looking toward passengers side. The truck is a 2023 trd off road double cab long bed.

Anybody know the purpose of the silver bracket and how angry its gonna make my truck if I remove it?

    It’s there for a reason……but I don’t know that reason.
