So my problem is I rub the upper control arm real bad. And I don’t want to get spacers because I’ve heard of to many story’s of people wheels flying off. And I’m looking at RC 89 series(-12 offset) wheels. I have Maxxis 285/7517r. And I’m wondering how bad I will rub the finders and metal part of the cab. Please help.

RC spacer lift? U may need aftermarket UCA's. Check the JBA website, they have some fitment guidelines on there.

You want aftermarket UCAs when you get to 3". Also, depending on your tire, that plays a significant role. Stock is not wide, so anything remotely beefy won't work with the stock offset. With your 285's new wheels and / or spacers will help. Spacers are just fine if you take care of them. They can be a good stopgap while you look at new wheels.

Send me a PM, and I can help you out. We launched https://holyhoresepower.co last year. Not everything is listed, but we have access SPC, Dobinsons, Bajakits, and more for UCA's—various wheel options. PM and let's chat if interested.

More mods than it should have...
Yeah, OEM UCAs are only good for up to about a 2" lift. Any higher and you are going to run the risk of having it hit the coil spring. 3" is way above that 2" so its gonna rub major. As for wheels and tires, I have 285/75/r17s with -12 offset wheels on a 2" lift with no rubbing on any metal parts (still on OEM UCAs for now :(). I have a 2nd gen but as far as I'm aware, 3rd gens shouldn't be any different.

So if my problem is that the tire is rubbing the stock UCA would it help to get aftermarket ones or will I have the same problem. I guess my question is what will fix the problem of rubbing the UCA, new wheels with -12 offset or after market UCA’s. And if I do get new wheels then I will rub the finders or the inside of the wheel well.

To me, you already bought your tires for your 3rd gen, so you are committed to fitting them.

You can get a cheap auto zone generic 6mm/ 1/4" spacer for now to test its UCA clearance, and the front to back clearance, turning the wheel in your driveway.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
I have a three inch lift on my 18 Sport. With the stock wheels and 270/65/17 I needed spacers to clear the UCA's. I also did the cab mount chop. The new wheel set is a -32 offset on a 17x9 wheel, no offset. Plenty of clearance on the suspension parts. I still get a little rub at full stuff and turn, but a little more trimming will take care of it.

Get the spacers and take a little more time to research what you want and budget for it. I ran my spacers for about 50k miles without issue. It's a much less expensive option than buying the wrong stuff and then starting over.
