    Hello all,IMG_8884.jpg IMG_8883.jpg
Anyone know why my album art only shows up on my stock head unit when I’m either in park or have the park brake on? It is like that weather Ihave “animation “ on or off. All other times it justshows an ugly Bluetooth symbol .

    Possibly down the rabbit hole...

I have an issue where when I use my thumb drive I cannot do a successful BROWSE once I am in drive. Finally noticed my pattern to figure this out, have a bitch thread about it here lol. When parked or in ACC mode (engine off) I am fine. If driving, the BROWSE is still active, but the SONG LIST is grayed out, indicating something like Vehicel In Motion and fudges up. If I BROWSE and then say click on FOLDERS it just jumps to a random album folder. It does not open the list for me to look through... ever. Until parked.

You issue sounds like it's a similar issue starting point, but manifesting differently. I have not been able to find a setting or anything where people have been able to change things for my issue. I have also seen this mentioned once or twice on other forums for Toyota. Seems like an inherant software issue that is not affecting enough people for a group bitch session to Toy Corp.

Let us know if you find anything!

It's designed to do that...wont display once you shift into drive. I have the same thing going on in my truck....did some digging, and found that Toyota did for safety reasons.

I mostly use Android Auto, but don't always like having to connect the USB cable....ended up getting the wireless Motorola adapter a few weeks ago. It's been working great so far.

Dumb! Not like a little 1” x1” display should distract anyone….

Guess not to you. But it’s close to a $50,000. Truck why should it look generic??

My issue worked on my previous truck, a basic simple function. When I drive for an hour or four at a time without stopping I like to be able to select and change what I listen to. Not everyone is into music or "select your thang", fine. But it's something that is very bothersome for me. I can also understand others that have similar feelings and no recourse for issues on their vehicles.

By the way, the new 24's have a monster screen that is not a heads up display that you have to interact with too. No safety issues there?

While I agree whole heartedly with not watching a screen when driving (I want to smack people even holding their phones), it is unfortunately against the "technology advancements" going into new vehicles everywhere. I don't really want to do screen time to do whatever manufacturers are now assigning to the screen.

I used to be able to check my cabin temp and fan speed settings by feel without looking from the road. Now I need to see / change the degree setting, vent placement setting, and fan speed looking at the little display "way down there". And again, for me, this is also something that would be adjusted along the way while driving. Backwards step for driver safety for me.

Weird that Toyota is worried about looking at album art but they put the map right there.

Funny, over Bluetooth mine is opposite. It will show the album art on the head unit but my phone doesn’t show it. I know it’s there on my phone, I just assigned the artwork to the mp3 before transferring, but no luck.

Oh also I have an iPhone 7 so maybe this old ass phone has something to do with it? Hahaha

‘19 also uses the gracenote database for album art, at least when streaming with Spotify via Bluetooth. Uneditable and not updatable
