I took my 2018 TRD Off-road to the dealership for it's first maintenance right at around 4600 miles and when I drove the next day the check engine light went on.

I took it back in and it turns out there is a crack in the fuel filler neck.

It has been in the shop for the last three weeks. Apparently there is only 2 filler neck parts for my model in all of toyotas inventory and 11 have been ordered and waiting for creation.

Anyone else have this issue before?

They are telling me it may be weeks or months before they get that part in.

I bet you start talking Lemmon law they will figure it out. I would atleast read up on your state's Lemmon law, just to understand your rights. However if your ok with out your truck and yota is giving you a rental, I probably wouldn't push it too much.

Yeah I should probably read up on that.

I have not had any issues with my truck at all though. It's a custom ordered manual and has been great since day one.....but I mean it's only less than 5k miles old.

They gave me a free rental (RAV4), which is not a bad car but I freaking miss my truck.

Sounds like you didn’t receive the benefit of your bargain, the very contract thought to raise and limit your actions. RAV4 is a girly suv...no? would be better to trade apples for apples since you have a valid claim rather than a complaint.

Is it that different from a 2016-2017? Plenty of wrecked ones out there that gave their all for their former owners.

They could remove a fuel filler neck from another new truck that they have in stock at the dealership, and install it on your truck.
That would be good service and maybe too much to ask for these days.

I purchased a new 4Runner 20 years ago and shortly thereafter noticed a transmission fluid leak at a hard cooler line where it connected to the transmission body. The end of the long metal tube coming from near the radiator was twisted by the nut attaching it to the transmission body. That happened at the factory.

I took it to the dealership where they informed me that the part would be coming from Japan. Instead of waiting for the part, they decided to remove a transmission line from another new 4Runner on the lot, and install it on my vehicle.

I waited a few hours while they took care of it that same day with no appointment.

Wow, now that is customer service. I guess that level of service had died away.

I did go in and made them trade me that RAV4 rental for a Tundra 4x4. I'm going hunting soon and I'm sure they don't want me to take that RAV4 to the lease, much less dress a hog in the back.

Did they even consider fixing the leak with JB Weld, or something????? "I put that shit on everything"

    OR, maybe some Gorilla tape....??

Actually most Lemon laws talk about how long it takes to fix the issue. Most are 30 days.

Again, I stated learn about your local Lemon laws. I wouldn't necessarily want to lemon it, but in today's lawyer world you need to toss around some of the consumer protection laws out there.

Id assume they don't want you to dress a Hog in the back of the TUNDRA either, all those guts and blood will hurt the resale.

Was watching Trail Recon and Dirtstyle Nate on youtube with their latest episodes and apparently neck filler is an issue. Never heard of the problem till now.
