1996 2.7 died on me and won't start. I've got fuel and spark but it still will not start or even cough like it wants to start. Not sure where to look now. Is there a timing sensor that could be bad?

Check your EFI fuse, if it keeps blowing I would backtrack the wiring and check for anything burnt.

Run a compression test. While the spark plug is out on #1 put her on top dead center and look at the rotor to see if it is pointing to #1 lead on the cap. Just trying to cover the basics…

Rebuilding seats with leather from furniture and extra padding. Might put leather on the dash and other interior parts.
Maybe flooded. Remove plugs. Crank engine over a few times. Dry out the plugs and reinstall.

I had a mechanic friend look at my engine and thought it might have jumped time. I did a compression test on all cylinders.
    #1. 150 psi
    #2. 115 psi
    #3. 65 psi
    #4. 65 psi
Now my question is what is the problem? Mechanic friend says head gasket, guy at the parts house says could be out of time and another says could be burnt valves.
    What should i check first?

The engine isn't out of time, you'd know if it was because it's an interference engine. The engine uses a chain, no reason to mess with it. The timing is fixed, no VVT.

The low compression on 2 adjacent cylinders makes me suspect a head gasket. If the valves were adjusted you shouldn't have burnt valve.

    Are there any codes?

If EFI fuse is blown why are the plugs wet? That means it's getting fuel. I unfortunately lean in agreement towards head gasket. I'm a manual mechanic at best but have been thru the blown head gasket more times than I'd like.....

Sound like bad gasket. Do some testing. Look for bubbles in radiator and exhaust fumes. Steam in exhaust. Part store may have tester you can borrow. Maybe try some head gasket sealer stuff like Blue Devil. I have never used that stuff but gets pretty good reviews. Do research on how to use it. If your truck not running then change the gasket. I changed the head on mine only took a couple hours in the driveway. Look at valves in the process.
