My 2016 Limited has over 80K miles on it now and recently I added a Lear shell. This week, as I was coming home from northern Utah, fully loaded after hitting Costco & Sam's Club, I could feel the rear end hitting bumps pretty hard.

I picked up some very little used Struts and shocks from a 2023 TRD Off road (the original owner had the dealership swap out the stock components with after market, before the owner even picked up the truck), and I was wondering if I would have any issues installing these TRD Off Road struts and shocks on to my Limited?

No you won't but these won't help your bottoming out situation. Your looking at a different leaf pack or add a leaf.

    This!
Shocks control suspension compression and rebound, springs hold the weight. Furthermore, the OR shocks are very soft, so adding them may even increase your chances of bottoming out.

If this your norm, I’d skip the add a leaf and get a new leaf pack. But call around, most aftermarket leaf packs raise the rear too, so if that’s not what you want, you’ll probably have to get a custom set, but there’s places that do this every day.

The Limited shocks (like the SR5 shocks) are a lot softer than the TRD Off Road shocks, that's why I figured they would help. Plus at 80K, I'm not sure what shape my Limited shocks/struts are in, another reason to change them out. My first concern was the Struts, if there is a height issue with the springs from the TRD VS the Limited (level - making the front ride higher than the rear), by installing the TRD Struts.

If I still have bottoming out issues, then, yes, I'll have to look at the springs. I just wasn't expecting the shell to be as heavy as it is.

See I think you have that backwards. I don't know which set up the limited has but the every stock offroad I have driven felt like it had much softer compression than the sports or sr5's I have driven.
Regardless it won't help your sag. The shock is simply there to keep things under control not handle the weight.

When I added a leer 100xl to my sport the stock leafs couldn't handle it with any extra gear in the back.

    OR is softer than SR5/limited.

I'd suggest new leaf springs as well, slightly stiffer for the topper and it will last a long time again.

When I had a 2004 TRD Off Road, the ride was pretty rough, and the Limited has been pretty mild. I know springs take care of the weight, but my thoughts on the shocks, would be the TRD are stiffer and not be as soft as the Limited. Even though my Limited is 4x4, it is a soft ride. So I figured the TRD Off Road shocks would help slow down the bumps. And like I said, I'll have to see what happens, and see if I'm going to have to do something with the rear springs.
And again, my real concern with the TRD Off Road Struts, would be the front springs, being different heights, than the Limited's springs. Guess I'll find out when I pull the old ones out.

I don't think you can compare a first gen to a third gen with any real basis. Think of it this way limited, sport, sr5 are typically more so street based trucks so having more agressive compression dampening results in better on road handling. The offroad would have a less agressive conpression to handle rougher terrain better but at the cost of some on road manners.

Well, That surprises me. I really haven't kept upon suspension components, I just "ASSumed" that the TRD OR would be stiffer.

Back to the drawing board! ;)

As everyone else has been saying OR, is softer. Your limited is similar to SR5, and Sport. Plus as mentioned rear shocks aren't going to help with cap/topper.

as others have already mentioned, you have my words backwards. OR is softer, the Limited is stiffer.
Again, the softer shocks may add to your problems.
Unfortunately, the OEM springs are weak, they can't hardly carry your gym bag, so the topper has it maxed out before even adding a load. You need a new leaf pack,, at very least add a leaf.

I bought a 2016 last year and it was on its original, weak leaf packs. They are all weak.
To save a buck and to keep a stock height rear end, I bought another guy's recent takeoffs after he upgraded to aftermarket leaf packs. Offer up, Facebook marketplace, Craigslist, etc., you will find them.
Nevertheless, if you run a shell and carry any weight in back, I would go directly to aftermarket stronger leaf springs.

Has anyone tried the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 kits?

Do they work, do they last?

It's a very popular brand, I havent install any but I wouldnt hesitate to buy them.

I've installed many many Firestone Airbag sets. I've owned a generic no name set as well.

Big thing is having a good install, most bag systems are pretty solid and simple, but the lines can leak and bags need a slight bit of pressure to ensure they last.

OEM TRD front struts are soft and have significant nose dive during braking
