Accessory power mode??

So I'm used listening to the car or truck radio while at the park etc etc. In the old days, turn the ignition key to the left and the juice flows.

On my '17 TRD, I push the ignition button without the foot on the brake and the juice flows, but, apparently only for about 10 minutes!

Any way around this?

Hmm. I was wondering that the other day when it shut off while I was adding things to the Nav app. And I had to turn it off and back on again.

My ('09) Tundra would stay on indefinitely wth the key in accessory mode. Useful for the drive in with the speakers on and rear window down directing sound to the bed during the movie.

 

I can't remember exactly but someone had a solution for this, specifically drive in theater, I believe it was shut off the car while still in drive, and then go to park. Not 100% if that was it though.

 

I was wondering the same. found answer on different forum, tested it and it works.

set the parking brake, without brake, push button twice (ign mode), put truck in neutral, push button. this puts it in accessory mode, with warning to put in park. As long as you stay out of park, that 10 min. timer will not start. Ran my radio over an hour.

If car is running, just turn off in neutral, same deal.
