2016 Tacoma Sport Barcelona Red DCSB

Has anyone had to replace the cowl grille cover at the bottom of the windshield? It’s made out of plastic and has the two wiper shafts extending through. My ends are rotted and a new cover is over $400! I see two end caps for the 2015 and older priced about $35. Has anyone tried to adapt these?
