I was planing on changing my speakers and tweeters and call it a day. But I have been told here that I would be wasting my money by just doing this.
So… I’m going to change my head unit, new all around speakers and tweeters and sound deadning my doors and rear cabin.
I want to have a nice sound and not planning to shake my whole neighborhood.
I know this have been gone over here many many times but the information are overwhelming. Even on Crutchfield there are tons of options.
Can anyone give me an advice or link to the post about a nice head unite matched with speakers set that would give me nice results and without breaking the bank.
    2012 non jbl double cab.
    Thanks a lot.

The biggest tip I can give you for a simple system is
Replace the head unit if you want the features
Get an amp if you want the sound

Head units put out about 15 W per channel, and while that is more than the factory head unit, it’s still not very much when driving aftermarket speakers.

there are awesome Amplifiers these days like the kicker key that will get you significantly better sound and cost less money.

but if you want Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, back up cam, etc., go on Crutchfield and look at head units that have the features you want. if the slight upgrade in sound doesn’t cut it, you can always add an amp later.

This is the set up that I went with in my 2009 Access cab. Quality of sound is clear with a tight low end. I am an Audio Engineer by trade and did not want to spend a lot of money for my second vehicle. I have been more than happy with the install for the money. I do not listen at high levels but love the stereo imaging and clarity of the system. It does get loud enough to eliminate background noise and you can feel the low end, but like I said I value my hearing.
Install was fairly easy if you have any electrical background. I also use sound deadening in the doors and on my back wall.

Since you have a 4 door I would just add:
JBL 621 Concert Series 6-1/2" 2-way car speakers with grilles from Crutchfield @ $79.99

Just to add the Joying gave me Apple/Android capabilities along with the back up camera etc. The hardest part was making the stock camera work with this unit. Just had to get a voltage converter and the wiring to do it. But as always you can find this info on Tacoma World for the Win!
