Picked up one in white Saturday. V6 auto. I prefer manual transmissions, but I’m not the only one involved in this decision. My wife just let me supercharge my 2015 Chevy SS Sedan 6MT so I had to let her have this one. This is actually my 2nd taco. I had a 2005 X Runner, then 2006 civic si, the 07 Forester XT 5MT , 2011 WRX, SS Sedan & now the TRD will take winter duty (SS doesn’t see rain, snow, salt or temp <40f.) Hoping to learn more about how to make this more livable for me as my 1st impression is that it’s slow, quiet, comfortable & looks decent. It’s replacing a 07 Subaru Forester making 300hp/300lb ft. & my SS is 590hp/543lb ft at the wheels, so just about anything like this is going to be slow for me. At least it’s not a CVT. Not sure if there’s anything new with the transmission tuning for 2023, but so far, the transmission seems ok (I’ve heard that people hate this automatic). I’ll have to dig around on here for ideas on performance upgrades etc. It seems most people are happy with the Tacoma & the resale value is good so I think we made a good choice.

Congrats on the new purchase. If I can chime in on upgrades si be you seem like a car guy like me haha I really recommend getting a tune. First thing I did with my 23 was go and get the KDMax tune and I was super happy with it. Makes it a bit more responsive with the throttle and sure it’s not a muscle or sports car but it moves a bit better after the tune. I got the Kdmax tune and can vouch for it I haven’t tried the other tuners but I’ve hear real good things about them too. Regardless of what you get I’m sure you’re gonna enjoy it.

Thanks! Now since I spent my budget for the year, I’ll have to find someone with the TRD pro exhaust that’s annoyed with the noise so we can swap. This one is too quiet for me.

I used to have a 2005 X-Runner & may have had another profile on here that I forgot about. How would I find out? Username Snaker maybe?
