    First time caller here!
Finally got my new TRD Sport 4X4 with Toyo Open Country A30's. After 1,000 I had a sidewall blowout. Thought it was a freak thing. Had the tires rotated at the dealer every 5k. I got to 14,300 and decided to rotate touch early before a trip only to find the I was recommended for four new tires! My REARS were down to 2/32's but on the far insides of the tire. Toyota had NO reason as to why... Just get new tires. Advisor asked a tech and he said that could be the axle or Diff!

I scheduled another appointment to get a better look. In the meantime I took it to a trusted Alignment center and they showed the rear to be out of whack. He believes the rear end was built improperly as it is not adjustable [See Alignment Data Below].

On the second service trip I asked that the advisor furthe inspect the rear. They said they would be able to perform an "eye test" (no joke) despite me asking for manual measurements. They also questioned whether my wife was driving the vehicle and what I tow (I have towed a 1200 lbs aluminum Lowe Roughneck roughly 400 miles). The gave the suspension and chasis a clean bill of health. I showed the data from the alignment and the advisor was visibly annoyed. They now have me coming in for a third time to have a FTS (Field Tech Specialist) to look at is as they "don't have the proper tools to measure/diagnose the issue."

I am sick to my stomach as I only buy Toyotas to veer clear of issues! I have no intentions of modifying this vehicle!

    Please! Any guidance/education/clarification is welcomed!

Again, this is my first true truck. I have always had independent suspension. I would greatly appreciate a laymens version guide to help me talk through the rear specs. When I go down the expressway, hit a crack/seam I feel as if the entire rearend shits to one side or another. I have more horror stories to share about this dealership and don't want to entirely sour my experience with Toyota, but i'm getting close. Thank you all!

Something is loose. Check the u-bolts, leaf springs and shackle-hangers

    Each dealer is different.

I can tell you that my dealer has paid for tires out of pocket in these scenarios to keep customer satisfaction high.

Yours is deflecting and ultimately after the field agent makes a decision, you shouldnt return to that dealership.

We'd probably try shifting the rear axle, but I think it needs a new differential housing.

I saw this some years ago with a Ford Bronco. The spring pack center pin was sheared. It allowed the axle to shift.

    Guys,
Thank you for the responses. I am looking to see if my Sport is part of the recall that was announced yesterday. Car does not feel safe. I thought it was just a taco ride (it's no Cadillac).

This recall just came out in the last 48hrs or so I believe. It may have not even made it to the dealers yet. But shame on the techs for not doing their due diligence.
