I am from New Hampshire and driving down to New Orleans next week. I am trying to plan my trip down finding places to camp along the way. I noticed Tuskegee National Forest is right off the highway and looks like it has public campsites. I'd be rolling in pretty late in the night Friday, 8 pm or later, So I am just looking for something quick and easy that isn't a parking lot.

Does anyone have experience in that area? Would I run into any issues this time of year?

Any information or personal experience with the area would be great.

Also we don't have any of that "step in the wrong area and die from a poisonous bite" BS here in my State. Is that a concern I should have in this area?
