My 08 did this all the time! Just damp weather would lock it up, and it’s dry in the southwest! Always had a bfh in the bed just for this.

Just started a new job at a heavy equipment auction. A lot of those semi trucks that haven't moved in a while will have their brakes locked up. Going forwards and backwards will free mild cases. For medium cases a BFH is needed to knock on the drums then drive forward and backwards. For bad cases we use a big solid metal pole to really knock it free. Had one truck a few weeks ago where the front drums were rusted to the pads. That was a fun one to get freed up!

So did it actually get freed up or is it still stuck?

    LS1 swap with nitros.
Simply press on the brake pedal ALL THE WAY down several times. It will snap the frozen deum shoes loose. Happens here most times I wash my truck and then put it direct.y into the garage.

have 1 wheel burnout residue on the garage floor as well from trying to gun it.

I have a 2023 TRD PRO with 6000 miles. I have had this happen (4) times now. The first (3) were pretty much insignificant. The last episode was much more difficult to overcome. Every brake-shift-gear selector combination, manual shift option, to shutting it down and moving far enough away to not detect the fob. Nothing worked! Mine appears to something with the HAC feature on the truck. The back tires (both) would spin in drive and reverse but the truck would not budge. No check engine or problem codes. Being a former drag racer it acted like the "line lock" was engaged. The dealer could not fine anything the second and third time. It has a date with the service department tomorrow. Fingers crossed the find something.

Did you record a video of it? What’s the dealer going to find or troubleshoot if it only seldom happens?

No, he has to put the rear locker on to make sure both rear tires are spinning, four-wheel-drive will still let one tire spin, and not the other. But you’re sort of on the right track.

It was very early in the morning when it happened so I didn't think about recording, however I will next time for sure. Locker engaged and both rears were turning over in forward and reverse.

The dealer checked the vehicle and found the transmission fluid was 1.7 quarts low with no leaks found. Nothing else was found. No codes or warnings.
