Replacing radiator condenser and trans cooler. Going with Denso for the condenser and rad but I don’t see a trans cooler from them. Can someone point me to a good one that is reasonably priced?? Thanks guys.

TYC is "almost as good as OEM," some parts are just not well made, while others are indistinguishable from OEM.

If it were me I'd go OEM or quality aftermarket for something like a trans cooler.

I installed the Long Tru-Cool LPD Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler 4589 24,000 GVW. I installed it a while ago and I’m very happy with it.

I have the OEM plus aftermarket Derale Stacked plate and a 180Degree oil thermostat and a magnefine inline filter. You can see the OEM cooler on the lower right. Came as part of tow package.
    Covered all the bases.
Despite its small size this is also a 24,000 GVW cooler. It isolated by the 180 thermostat so it doesn't overcool

On my previous vehicle I started with just the exact same cooler. After a 45 minute commute in heavy traffic with temps in the 90's (F) i got home, pulled the trans dipstick (remember those :)) and the atf was just lukewarm. Normally i would expect the dipstick to be almost to hot to touch.

Then i add the thermostat and the temps went back up to the the normal hot but expected operating range.
Being in Canada I knew that without the thermostat this would heavily overcool it in the winter considering how well it works at 90F. So it works like just the OEM cooler alone until it hits about 165F and which thermostat opens.

With the ultra gauge I have Never seen a temp over 175F with this setup.

This was my previous setup on a Honda Odyssey minivan (and yes you can call me a soccer mom/dad )

I went with a Hayden unit slightly larger than factory. It took a little creative mounting, but the Hayden coolers have some kind of alien magic inside them that bypasses trans fluid until it comes up to operating temp (I believe something to do with sized perforations and fluid density).

The result was surprising - trans came up to temp in very cold weather faster than the stock cooler, and stayed steady in Southwest summers hauling ass through the mountains.

I have seen schematics and some of those have a bimetalic strip that blocks of lower portions on the cooler. Once it gets warm enough the strip bends and opens up the flow to the rest of the cooler.

Yes, my cooler has the temp bypass too and it works pretty well in cold temps as I tracked the trans temp after the install. I installed a Hayden trans cooler when I had my Altima, when I found out about the short comings of the CVT transmission I couldn't get that cooler installed fast enough.

If you are going to add a cooler I would suggest you add a gauge to see what the results are so as to avoid overcooling. Example of untragauge. I only monitor pan temp but you can also monitor converter output temp as well.

FWIW I have the 696. Has been perfectly sized for everything from Northern New England winters to desert summers. I was not familiar with Hayden products but was recommended them by a couple TW people/threads. I was very surprised at the quality of construction and materials, especially given the price.

I installed the Hayden 696 in my Altima, did the trick.
