Predictive models using algorithms have been used by big firms for well over 30 years now. The problem is the whatever number based statistical data set they try to use the results are the same. Just about 50% accuracy. A few years ago 2 MIT grad students decided to use social media and news outlets as the base for stock trends rather then any technical indicators. Their success rate? Over 75%. The research and paper has been completely scrubbed from the internet. I'm betting Yass or Fink now own it. lol

Most of the major trading firms use a variant of Blackrock's Alladin trading algorithm. It's technically "AI" but it also has the benefit of being able to absolutely skullfuck the market if it wants to because it has access to (for all intents and purposes) unlimited money.

@theesotericone I could have just broken even on the $810 call I had for today if I held it till that spike.

but losing 66% was enough. I said I would reestablish a lower position on a dip which I did. And that worked out nicely.


Now do I buy the largest leap I can for 4K on the next dip lol

Well, the price movement in Nvidia today sure was a lesson and taking profits. I thought I would spend the rest of the day regretting selling my call at 9:40. For once I did not.

When you nail a dip you never buy enough...
This stock has been a steady killer DRIP for me for years as previous iterations and then when it dipped I bought some in my IRA...
Cost was $1233, now worth $1814 with $210 in DRIP value on the original $1233...CRAZY 17% return.

 

Look at that... 3 weeks later and it's popping up on screeners as a top Net Income ratio stock right up there with $NVDA!
