Hey guys! I’m a detailer and we’ve been detailing in a 22 civic for a while and We decided we’re gonna get a new Tacoma. After looking at the pricing and etc, I was wondering if it is worth getting an SR5 for an almost 4k price jump instead of an SR. I have a deposit down for an SR, and I’m getting the vehicle at MSRP which is 35***. The spec sheets don’t show much of a difference besides a slight bump in hp (which I can fix with a simple tune down the road) & independent rear shocks for the sr5 and leaf spring for the sr, as well as the sr5 getting some fog lights in the front bumper. I don’t off road or anything, strictly daily driving, detailing and taking it up to the mountains on the weekend. We already have a sponsor on lock for the wheels for the car, so do you guys think it’s worth it to keep the 4k difference and use that money towards upgrading the vehicle with aftermarket and oem+ components once there is a market? Thanks guys. Check out our instagram as well! @natesdetailgarage

You want a work truck or a nice work truck? Do you want or need heated seats? Not sure if you have this attached spec sheet but maybe it will help you.

Welcome to TW. I like creature comforts. That is the reason I have a limited.

Thanks for your replies, I don’t care much for heated seats, I could definitely afford an SR5, or even the TRD sport. I just figured with 4k-6k extra that could be put towards a lift, some good tires, a nice bed cover, and some other mods when they come available. I am not familiar with tacomas though, with tunes how much of a power bump do you get on 3rd gen’s? I’m use to getting a 50whp power bump with a simple ots tune

If you plan on a tune down the road then you want an SR5 at the minimum. I don't think anyone has released a tune on the G4 yet....keep in mind they have been out for less than 2 months. I suggest you find an SR5 to drive. I think you will find it has plenty of power. Take a look at this sheet to help you locate one that may be in transits or on the ground already.
