The sad but promising part is that it is drivable now, and drives great- does anyone think 5k is reasonable to ask?

    Good luck-
I did the two rear at leaf springs and mid section 4 years ago. The rust just keeps coming back

Might as well post it for sale and see what happens. Its a killer looking truck. I just put a down payment on a truck from Washington because I too am sick of the rust. My frame was replaced and is solid but theres still lots of repairs to do and my cab looks a lot worse than yours. Good luck.

Eastern Texas and Oklahoma is a good region to look for rust free Tacomas IME. And not everyone thinks they have a rare museum piece like on the west coast, so you can find them for normal prices.

I was looking over there and Arkansas a bunch but the only ones I really liked the sellers didn’t want to deal with someone out of state. And as far as I can find Texas only has prerunners. It’s insane how many are down there.

If you need the backhalf I had a junkyard offer me one for $350 the other day in Houston, i looked at 2. That is a relatively straightforward repair process.

I found a complete perfect frame for $1000 though.

And yes 1st gen Prerunners are very common around here, in ext cab especially.

    4 run, 2 don't
Meanwhile in California, we toss clean frames cause there's no need for them

    Can't even give them away

I will buy one if you can find an 01 db 4wd. I don't know where people post them as I can never seem to find them. Maybe its a word of mouth thing?
