Sorry guys there hasn’t been a lot of updates but poor **** gets two or three steps forward then has to go back four steps back. He’s done an AMAZING & ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC job! (Edit) Well I thought he was doing a good job until I saw all his work in person‼️ He said he was going to make a video or more than a few to get everyone updated. Keep an eye out for more videos from ****. Funny ****’s getting the AC charged in TX where it’s been in the 20’s at night!

Well, I had a flight scheduled for the 29th to go pick up the truck. But **** said the tune is not the best. So he’s going to use the gentleman who turned his LS Swapped OBS truck. The tuner is not able to tune the truck until the 29th. Well crap I had to change the flight to land Saturday, February the 10th at 8:40AM. Didn’t want to take a chance on hurting the refreshed 5.3 all aluminum L33 w/ a baby cam.

(Edit) Turns out the $600 tune I paid for just before getting on the freeway to come home sucked. The engine was pinging in just about any situation. It was really hard to keep it from pinging!

Well I got a flight to TX on the 10th and stayed in TX for two days working on cleaning up the wiring and the $1175 wiring harness I had custom made. :frusty:
I got home changed the engine oil & the transmission fluid both to Mobil 1 and started to clean the poor truck up from driving miles of dirt roads. **** lives on a dirt road in the TX Country, not his fault I just hate dirt roads my 4x4 days are long over with. I’m going to be weeks cleaning up the truck and wiring in the engine bay, undercarriage and inside the cab. Poor Jeremy aka @Man of Steel TRD is going to earn his money cleaning up the wiring inside the cab. The thing that works is the stereo. The dash lights are screwed up, (can’t dim, the dash lights, sometimes the clock in the dash stays on, the alarm doesn’t work, the dome light stays partially on, the driving & little auxiliary back up lights don’t work, the cab has a dent in it. The CravenSpeed mounting bracket is bent the aftermarket cruise doesn’t work. The only reason I went with Drive By Wire is for Cruise, now I don’t have cruise. Ok done venting mostly. (Edit) Jeremy found some of the issues the dimmer switch was unplugged and the auxiliary back up lights are going straight to ground. The biggest issue I’m really upset about is the tuner I paid $600 for! The engine pings, 50% of the time engine won’t idle, and I have check engine light but no code that I can find. The wiring is no big deal but the tuner is a POS!

So anyone in TX absolutely don’t use the bonehead below‼️

The plus side is it has HP the Toyota never would have had. The factory temperature gauge works and factory tack is right on the money the speedometer is way off!! I understand this is because of the tuner! I removed the 19x8 & 8.5” Forged Rays w/ 235 & 245/50-19’s to install a set of some sort of Mustang GT 19x9 w/ +45 & 19x9.5 w/ +52. Both tuck under w/ soft & sticky Pirelli’s in a 255 & 275/45-19’s. But even with the soft sticky 275/45-19 rubber in first gear if I nail the throttle it will wheel hop.
So you are asking was it worth it? Right now I will say NO but after I get everything put together I will hopefully say yes! The HP is incredible‼️ **** a great guy and did an Ok job but I guess after looking closer he didn’t take pride in his wiring. Just got it together and stuff it out sight and a few zip ties. Reminds me of the Home Of The $1 Stereo Install!!
I’m most upset at the POS tuner‼️ I worried all the way home if the tune was going to burn a hole in a piston…

Ok, Oil pressure dropped to about 9 PSI as I was pulling into the Toyota dealership to pick up some parts. I heard the valve train rattling. Push in the clutch and shut the engine off. Waited a few minutes then started the truck thinking WTF. Oil pressure came back up to the mid 20’s and no noises from the engine. After going inside and getting the parts from my Toyota parts guy he wanted to see the truck. Back outside I started the truck and now it’s in the mid 30’s. I cruised it home and texted the engine builder Van and explained what was going on. The first thing he text back was “I will that care of it it’s sounds like I messed up so don’t worry it’s No Charge to you it’s on me.” He didn’t have time to pull the engine so he’s sending me to a shop he trust. They are going to hook up a mechanical gauge to the engine to find the issue. The shop asked me if I knew the pickup tube O ring color. I told him I think it’s a reddest orange color. He said I think this pickup tube needs the blue O ring. I told him I have one. The shop is thinking the reddish color O ring is to fat and ripped going in placed. So the shop is going to lift the engine to check out the O ring and Oil Pump. God I pray someone can fix the issue.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Dropping oil pressure isn’t really indicative of an oring problem. I thought that about my first motor too. Something’s bleeding off all your pressure. If van doesn’t pull through I can get you in touch with my engine builder.

Was the truck ever put on a dyno and tuned? I am under the assumption that putting it on a dyno is the only way to maximize the effectiveness of a tune.

Nope! The tuner gets in the passenger seat and basically tells you how to drive. Less than 15 minutes he’s back in his vehicle and driving away after they receive the $500 plus $50 to $100 for the trip charge!!

And the sad part is he forgot to bring this with him as proof he tuned your vehicle!

    https://www.amazon.com/Vaseline-Ori...id=1708899805&sprefix=vaseline,aps,217&sr=8-5

Oh, I forgot to add that the engine is getting pulled this coming week because of oil pressure issues. The shop thinks it’s either the oil pump starting to go bad on the pickup tube O ring was installed incorrectly!

    what shop is pulling it?

pumps don’t just “go bad” something causes them to go bad. Usually metal particulate.

    You’re correct!
I’ve already said to much. :anonymous:

I don’t want to say anymore until the suspected issue is verified.

Well I got a call from the shop yesterday. The shop owner said he wasn’t trying to be derogatory but, he said “You got electrical issues who wired this!? Doesn’t look like they cared, just get it running type of attitude….
I told him that’s the reason I wanted who I hired because of their electrical skills. He then said he was sorry. I told him don’t be you are just replying your thoughts. He said he didn’t know what going on but your two auxiliary gauges have shorts. When I jiggle the wiring the oil pressure gauge goes out and the other gauge (it’s an Air Fuel Ratio) is completely messed up it goes from one extreme to the other. I told him I know… I’m beginning to fill like this was a big mistake…

Well the technician wants to pull the pan and check the World Famous O-ring to see if it’s pinched or something else. So I decided to purchase an hand formed & welded aluminum 7 quart pan with baffles. The tech said being he’s going that far might as well pull the oil pump and add a washer or two to the oil pump spring. Apparently this raises the oil pressure Some??? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But from what I understand you can get a pump with to much pressure and it will suck the pan dry!

All I know is I want the truck back so I can try to clean up all the wiring issues! I called Innovate and asked why would the cable/s need to be cut on their gauges. They said there’s absolutely no reason to cut the cable/wires. The wires are exposed where they need to be connected.
Plus I don’t have a lift to raise the bed to find where the wire to the back up lights is going to ground.
And I need to learn how to re-pen the engine harness to clean it up‼️

you’re getting a bigger oil pan right? Mines 6.8qts and I have no oil pressure issues with the HV HP melling.

Well Deep Motor SUCKS! Took my money then waited for over a week to ship! So I called and left a voicemail asking when are you going to ship my parts? No reply so I called VISA and within two days I got a refund! So now I had to purchase another pan. The second pan came with the wrong “Oil Pick-Up Tube” so a Third order.
God with all the issues I’m having I’m thinking I should have just left the supercharger system on and built the engine for boost!
Oh, I just purchased this to go behind the front one so I will have two 5x11x22 in a row/series.
The front is two 2.5” in and a 3” single out this is a 3” in & out.

No they removed the rear cross member and fabricated mounts to put it back in. They didn’t want to pull the motor because of the wiring mess.
Plus they said when the installer tried to force the over sized oil O-ring in place he may have pushed the Oil pump?
Or something to that effect. All I know is now the fans are not working. The guy I hired was in over his head. I’m only guessing but with the reputation of the oil tube pickup **** must have thought bigger is better but it did something to the oil pump. The O-ring was deformed and pinched…

God I really can’t believe what the shop is finding‼️ **** would just use scrap wire. He had a power wire ( black wire ) ran the black wire but it wasn’t long enough so he spliced a blue wire to the black wire!!
How in the F**k are you supposed trouble shoot any thing if it has an issue⁉️
God Damn **** what the F**k were you thinking‼️

    What a nightmare‼️
    :frusty: :puke:

Good thing my wife has many former students that are practicing lawyers…
