Today I made a platform for my furry copilot Oakley. There’s not much room in a 1st gen Extra cab and there’s no room for her to comfortably lay down. I used a 2ftx4ft 3/4 piece of plywood (precut) some hinges and some scrap 2x12, 2x4. I first cut the plywood to 18 1/4 width and then ripped it into a 8 3/4 piece (back) and 9 1/2 (front). Using 1/8 shims i attached the hinges. The hinges allow me to store things in the factory underseat storage and lifting the front i can keep a couple things under there too. The front supports were more or less trial and error, ripping down 2x12 and shimming it as needed as there are a lot of humps in the floor. Once i find some carpet I’ll lay that down and staple in place but for now, I think Oakley’s happy.
