Tacoma 2023 steering column cable recall

Has anyone had the dealer checkout the spiral cable assembly in the steering column that may lose its electrical connection on the circuit controlling the driver's airbag. I am wondering if they all need to be replaced or if they are checking a serial number on the cable to see if it is an identified range before replacing. Really hate to have the dealer mess with the wiring on a 7 month old truck. I would appreciate hearing about anyone's experience on this issue. Thanks.

Mine showed as needing to be checked, so I had them look at it alongside another install I was having done and they just said it didn't need replaced and I was good to go.

They check the resistance of the cable from what I understand. Basically if it fails the check then they replace the cable. It is a plug n play cable...I wouldn't worry about a dealer replacing it.
