Last year I was late to a meeting and was driving my Tacoma in a very spirited fashion around town. That evening I get rumbling and codes for misfire P0301 and P0302 if i remember correctly. I had all six injectors cleaned at Motor West. They replaced two.

Recently I did some more spirited driving and got her stuck in a decent ditch nose first. Lots of reving forward and reverse to get out. Not deep mud or water but definitely had her at an angle with lots of mud spray from the tires. (possibly of note- pressure washed the truck the next day but did not spray under the hood)

Next day I get a P0305. Misfire again. Swap coils, swap plugs, new wires.
I put a screwdriver on the #5 injector and there are no audible clicks unlike the healthy ones.

Does this mean I have gunk in my tank that is getting passed through the injectors. Why do i get misfires after I drive in a rowdy fashion? If i did clog the injector wouldn't I still hear a clicking? I hear nothing from the #5 injector.

I'm trying to diagnose why this is happening as there seems to be a correlation...

I'd send the injector back to Motor west and try to get a cause of failure. Could be the winding failed causing the misfire. Seems like the same thing might have happened last time since you had 2 misfires and they replaced 2 injectors. When you're hard on the gas the duty cycle is high and if the windings are weak it could blow the windings.

Good thoughts. I had to google how injectors work to understand windings. Pulling injector now.

Can you test the wiring harness to the injector for continuity?

When they rebuild injectors they're generally cleaned and balanced I don't think they generally replace the windings.

Tested continuity on the bad one and the the others. #5 is a broken circuit. I think blew the windings was spot on Tacomaman2001$. Thanks

Is this a rebuild the bad one, rebuild them all, or replace them all OEM situation?

I think it's time to suck it up and replace them all OEM or from Motorwest. you could save the 2 you replaced new from Motorwest if you can tell the difference.
