Trading in Gen 3 for Gen 4

Like some people I plan on trading in my Gen 3 2017 OR for a Gen 4. So I did some browsing of used Tacomas from my local Toyota dealerships and I couldn’t find any that had modified suspension, wheels and tires.

Does anyone have insight on if dealers prefer no modifications when it comes to trade in? Just wondering because I also got rid of the all old parts.

Also interested in knowing if anyone recently traded in a Gen 3 OR with about 76k miles to see what they got from the dealer.

 

If you sell to a dealership, you mostly won't get any extra money for your mods. Some mods may even de-value your vehicle. Additionally, I would say most people would rather buy a stock vehicle. With that said, you would probably make more by selling it privately.

 

Could also part out and try to revert back to oem

 

I got nothing for my wheels and tires. They just went off of KBB.

Lol, my thoughts too. Who "most people."

 

Fixed it with some people instead of most.

 

Private owner sales where you’re going to find somebody that will appreciate the mods

 

Just be sure to bring plenty of personal lube. It sounds like the perfect storm.
