Question for those who have lifted their truck with Toyota Safety Sense.

What exactly is the issue with lifting and TSS going rogue on you? I watched the Wescott's Design video and the tech explains that the truck thinks it been in an accident since it can't see the ground. The solution is to make sure the keys are nowhere near truck and make sure it isn't in accessory mode. He mentions a potential hard code if not re-calibrated properly. So is the issue with the sensor in the grill or in front of the rear view mirror? And how can this be a thing since towing, or even going over a sharp hill will leave the sensor pointing into midair. That should recreate the same error correct?

Just trying to mitigate issues when leveling my 2024 Tundra. Only going 1.5 inches in the front.

Asking here because there isn't too much on the tundra forum germane to this.

It is an issue with the radar system. Many just shim the sensor with a washer and everything is happy. Others (like me) lifted 3" and didn't have an issue at all.

Any change in the front wheel alignment (specifically the straight-ahead steering wheel position) can cause the TSS system to shut down (how much wheel position change it takes, I'm not sure, but from 12:00 to 1:00 seems to do it).

Make sure the wheel alignment (wheel position) is exactly how it was before, and you should be fine (this has been my experience doing my own lifts and alignments anyway, never had an issue. Adaptive cruise still works, system still yells at me when I drive too aggressive lol).

Mine was lift 2" no problems at all. There has been many discussions and threads on this. I would say less then 5% have a problem with on lifted Tacoma's.
